เงินปันผล หมายถึง การแบ่งส่วนแบ่งที่ได้จากกำไร จากการค้าขายในรูปแบบ บริษัท จำกัด เพราะเป็นการจ่ายจากกำไรสะสมตามมติของคณะกรรมการบริหารของบริษัท ณ วันที่ประกาศจ่ายเงินปันผลย่อมถือว่าบริษัทมีภาระผูกพันกับผู้ถือหุ้นที่ได้ประกาศไว้ ซึ้งถือว่าผู้ถือหุ้นมีสถานะเป็นเจ้าหนี้ของกิจการ อาจจ่ายเป็นเงินสด หรือจำนวนหุ้นก็ได้แล้วแต่ละบริษัท
